Webb24 sep. 2003 · Abstract This document presents recommendations of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) for quality assurance of computed-tomography- (CT) simulators and CT-simulation process. This report was prepared by Task Group No. 66 of the AAPM Radiation Therapy Committee. WebbCT simulators have become the standard of care for radiotherapy in the developed world. CT imaging data provide a complete 3-D view of the patient’s anatomy, allowing for more accurate delineation of the tumor and the surrounding normal tissues.
